This last weekend, I had an opportunity to lead the program for kids at ICYA's camp out on Gem Lake. The weekend was a neat time to be with some of our kids in a different setting.
For those who don't know about Gem Lake...It takes about a 3 hour drive plus a 20 minutes snowmobile ride to the camp (that is in winter). Everything is heated by wood stoves. Our oven and fridge is ran by propane; the bathrooms are outhouses; our hot comes from a pot on the stove and our cold water comes from the lake; (in the summer we do have running water, which is heat by solar panels.)
I had a great time building relationships and interacting on a level that wouldn't have been achieved here in the North End. It was neat to see God' s creation out in the wilderness. The silence out there was incredible. Since we were the only ones out in the wilderness for miles around. Standing out on the lake and seeing the billions and billions of stars was really neat to experience God in his setting. I will post you pictures as soon as I can.
